*WEDDINGS AND EVENTS - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT LOCATIONS DO YOU SERVICE?
We service the whole world - wherever your story is taking place, we want to be there with you to capture it. For most locations we charge no travel fees - we love to travel!
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING THIS?
We've been filming/photographing for over a decade. Weddings have been a main focus for us for just under 9 years now. One thing that sets us apart from other veterans of the industry is that we keep innovating and staying current with the latest in cameras, editing, and filming techniques, continuing to provide the highest level of quality in our work.
HOW MANY HOURS WILL YOU STAY?
When it comes to weddings, we don't have a limit on hours. We start when you are getting ready, and we stay until we capture the last moment we need to tell your story at the end of the reception. If you are looking for only a small amount of hours we can put together a customized smaller package for you.
WILL YOU GET IN THE WAY ALOT?
We've done a LOT of weddings, and we know how to stay out of the way and be incognito whenever possible. Since we have experience with both photography and cinematography, we understand the needs of other vendors and actively work to make sure we help each other get the best shot possible. Thanks to our collection of lenses, we can often stay out of the way and capture perfect candid moments without anyone even noticing we are there.
HOW LONG AFTER THE WEDDING DO I GET MY FILM OR PHOTOS?
This can vary, but typically turn around time is about 1-3 weeks for photos and 3-4 weeks for cinematography. We can get you a faster cut of your highlight clip and some of your photos right away in many cases though. We do also offer same day edits which involve us bringing an extra person along, who's entire job is to edit on a laptop as we go. Same day edits can be shown during the reception!
DO YOU OFFER PHOTO BOOTHS AND SLOW MOTION BOOTHS?
Yes! We offer both and have different options depending on what you need, but typically 4 hours during the reception is a good amount of time. Slow motion booths are fairly new and really fun - contact us if you'd like to see a sample!
DO YOU USE LIGHTING FOR VIDEO? WILL IT BOTHER MY GUESTS?
Thanks to our incredible cameras and lenses, we can shoot in near absolute darkness without the need to use any lighting. This allows us to capture the mood, stay incognito, and avoid carrying bulky lighting gear around.
WHAT ABOUT AUDIO?
We capture audio of everything! We use multiple sources for audio to make sure we don't miss anything. During the ceremony we use a tiny lapel mic that goes to a little recorder, clipped on to the groom and or officiant. Nobody will even notice it is there, but it picks up professional quality audio of the entire ceremony, especially the vows! We choose to have this record to itself rather than transmit wirelessly to our cameras - wireless technology is always lower quality than wired, and there's the chance of wireless signals interfering with each other (you wouldn't want to have your videographer's wireless mic interfere with the officiant's wireless signal!). We avoid all of that by recording direct to the recorder and then syncing the audio and video together in editing. That's just the first step though - we also have audio recorded direct on our cameras to capture ambient audio (the audience cheering for example) which can be great for unexpected moments during the reception. On top of that, we have an audio mixer that can accept all manner of cables, so we can plug in to whatever your DJ is using and get a feed direct from his soundboard (also works with churches that let us plug in).
WHY SHOULD I INVEST IN A WEDDING FILM?
Ask anyone who didn't get a wedding video, they'll tell you it's the number one thing they regret about the wedding. This is one of the most important moments in your life, and these memories will happen once and then fade into time. Nothing captures the mood and action of your day like video - and it's the only source you'll have for toasts, vows, and music. Photography is just as important, but the two capture your day in very different ways, and both are needed to tell the full story.
HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL YOU TAKE?
Just like with hours, we don't have a limit. We take as many photos as we can to capture everything that happens. It doesn't make sense to have a limit - you wouldn't want the photographers taking bad pictures trying to reach a pre-set number of photos, and you wouldn't want them to stop taking photos at a certain number either! With that said, for a standard full day wedding we usually shoot a few thousand photos and then take out repeats/closed eyes/etc. After getting the photoshop treatment, you get all these photos in both a private online gallery and on DVD.
WILL YOU PHOTOSHOP THE PHOTOS?
We take every photo and enhance it with contrast, saturation, sharpness, cropping, and color grading. From there, some photos we'll use a black and white or sepia tone where it enhances the mood. We also take photos that you plan to print or use in an album and make sure to do whatever you request - blemish removal, making something disappear from the background, etc - just let us know what you want, if it's physically possible then we can do it in Photoshop!
DO I GET A WEDDING ALBUM AND PRINTS?
Photography packages come with a credit that you can use either towards a wedding album or ordering prints. You can optionally remove this credit to lower the package price a little. We design the albums ourselves and print them through Asuka Books, who have the highest quality we've found in the industry. They can do all sizes and styles, you just pick the photos you want (we can make recommendations) and then we design it (you get a pdf version to preview for changes).
DO YOU DO ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS? WHERE CAN WE GO?
We love to do engagement sessions! It's a great time to meet with each other and get comfortable, and I guarantee that you will have a great time. When we do an engagement session we have an adventure, and you get all the photos that we take. Typically takes a few hours, and we travel just about anywhere. We can also make recommendations if you don't know where to start.
